UPDATE: 6:28 p.m. OPD confirms three adult males and one adult female were involved in today’s shooting. The three males have passed away, and the female is at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
UPDATE: Thursday’s victims were discovered after OPD was called to do a welfare check at the residence.
According to OPD, a search warrant was issued based on the victims found on the welfare check.
OPD could not comment on if the suspect in the shooting is one of the victims or if they are still at large. Officer Andy Boggess could only comment that the suspect has not been identified.
Two bodies are confirmed to still be inside the residence.
UPDATE: 4:05 p.m. Jared Revlett, Public Information Officer for Owensboro Public Schools confirmed that at least three OPS students live at the residence. All three were in school today. Two are in elementary school and one in 8th grade.
UPDATE: 2:30 p.m. On Thursday, January 17, 2019 officers responded to the 900 block of Audubon Ave. in reference to a homicide investigation. Upon arrival officers located two individuals deceased and two injured which were transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in critical condition. Since arriving at the hospital, one of the critically injured parties has succumbed to their injuries. Detectives and evidence collection are on-scene and the investigation is ongoing. Updates will be released as they come available.
UPDATE: 2:00 p.m. Owensboro Health Regional Hospital confirms they received two patients from today’s shooting, but declined to comment any further.
UPDATE: 12:54 p.m. OPD has confirmed it was a shooting with multiple victims.
DEVELOPING: At approximately 11 a.m. Thursday morning, the Owensboro Fire Department and Owensboro Police Department were dispatched to reports of multiple fatalities on Audubon Ave.
OPD confirms that there has been an incident in the 900 block of Audubon Avenue.
OPD investigators are currently working the scene and that is all that can be confirmed at this time.
The coroner has been called to the scene.
