Sweet Sis Co., a new family-owned bakery, is giving three sisters a chance to be together and pursue their passion for baking together.
Hannah Bullington and her two older sisters always enjoyed baking with their mom when they were younger, and it was always a time for the four to enjoy each other’s company.
However, the pandemic limited their time to get together. They weren’t able to get together for Easter, so they had to bake and deliver the desserts throughout the family’s homes to keep their tradition alive.
Eventually, they were able to reconnect and start working in the kitchen again and start doing the things they love.
“We really just love getting together and making other people happy, and we have to show our love through baking,” Bullington said.
Now with Sweet Sis Co., the sisters are taking their desserts and baked goods to the road and different markets across the county. Bullington said that they are planning to be at The Spring Market at Cecil Farms on April 23 and 24.
Each of their cakes is unique, as they experimented with different recipes to find their signature homemade cakes. Their flavors range from carrot cake and white chocolate raspberry to lemon blueberry, and they offer both full-sized cakes and different-sized bundt cakes.
“We put a lot of thought into them,” Bullington said. “We wouldn’t want to give our family members something we don’t like, and the same goes for our customers.”
The business officially opened at the start of April and jumped into the local market scene the next weekend.
Continuing through the summer, they plan to be at the Owensboro Regional Farmer’s Market on occasion. They can take custom orders on their Facebook Page, and they offer local pickup and delivery.
