The United Way of the Ohio Valley and The Owensboro Convention Center invite you to the Convention Center on Thursday, October 5 at noon for the Announcement of the Barrels of Heart Artist winner who will win a $1,000 prize and United Way will donate $500 to the artist’s non-profit of choice. Over 1,000 votes have been cast by the general public for their favorite barrel.
The Barrels of Heart event was a special event fundraiser that United Way of the Ohio Valley adopted from the Bourbon with Heart organization to help UWOV raise money for local non-profits. Ten barrels painted by local artists have been on display at the Convention Center since September 15 for the community to view and vote for their favorite barrel. The local sponsors of the barrels (Big Rivers, Board Walk, First United Bank, Glenmore Distilleries, Hafer, Owensboro Health, Jerry and KoKo Morris, MPD, Sun Windows, and Swedish Match) will have the choice to display their barrels at their local businesses.
