Broussard will lead the state office’s advocacy and outreach effort with a team of volunteers and staff representing more than 425,000 AARP members in Kentucky.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (September 25, 2023) AARP Kentucky is excited to announce that Troy J. Broussard has been selected as its new State Director, effective September 3, 2023, and will be based in the Louisville Office.
Over his impressive seven-year tenure at AARP, he has consistently demonstrated leadership excellence and strategic vision. In his most recent role as Senior Advisor in the Office of Community Engagement (OCE), he played a pivotal role in leading AARP’s National Veterans & Military Families Initiative (VMF). He began his career with AARP serving as the Louisiana State Associate State Director-Advocacy & Outreach. He has extensive experience recruiting, training, and collaborating with AARP volunteers.
Before joining AARP, Broussard enjoyed a successful career in the telecommunications industry, with AT&T and Cox Communications, where he honed skills in team leadership, management, customer care, advocacy, and priority execution.

Broussard received his BA degree in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Apart from his professional accomplishments, Broussard has many passions outside of work. He enjoys live sporting events, reading, and indulging in the fascinating world of Lego creations. Moreover, he takes immense pride in being a devoted father to his two children, Blythe (24) and Brennan (18).
