Are you looking for something unique to put in your Easter Basket’s this year? The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co may have just the answer. The Cottage has jumped into the newest candy trend offering a variety of freeze dried candy, just in time for Easter. Freeze dried candy is exactly like the name implies – candy that’s been freeze dried. The process involves freezing the candy and then removing all of the water and moisture from the candy, under vacuum, leaving only pure sugar crystals behind “ The Flavor intensifies dramatically, and the candy puffs up for a fun taste experience”, said Marlene Knight, Owner of The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co.

Freeze dried candy flavors vary but you will find multiple flavors of Skittles, Jolly Ranchers, Sprees, Sweet Tarts, and many flavored marshmallows including Chocolate Filled Strawberries, Lucky Charms & Sour Patch Watermelon. Salt Water Taffy is available and makes a spectacular presentation. All Freeze dried candy is $6.00 per package. If Chocolate is your favorite, then a Cottage “Smash Egg” will fill those cravings. Large chocolate eggs are filled with Gummies, Jelly Beans and M&M’s. They are then decorated with colored chocolate and sprinkles, boxed and tied with ribbon. Attached is a wooden mallet to crack open the egg and let the candy pour out. Smash Eggs are $8.00 each. Customization of eggs, by putting a note inside with the candy is available with advance orders. Cake Pops, Bunny Rice Krispie Treats, decorated Sugar Cookies and mini muffins are enough to fill any basket. As always, The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co produces all products locally.

The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co is located at 6869 Highway 56 in Sorgho, just 5 minutes from the bypass. You can find out more information on their Facebook page – @cottagehwy56 or by calling (270) 794-7040. The Cottage will be closed Easter Day.
