Brescia to host two candidate forums

Brescia University will host two candidate forums in preparation for the upcoming November election. The events are free and open to the public.

The first of the two forums will be held Tuesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. and will feature the candidates running for state legislative seats in the districts in and surrounding Daviess County.

The event will be a town-hall format. Five candidates seeking to represent Senate District 8 and House Districts 7, 11, 12, 13 and 14 have confirmed their participation.  Confirmed candidates are Bob Glenn (Senate District 8), Joy Gray (House District 7), Rob Wiederstein (House District 11), DJ Johnson (House District 13) and Elizabeth Belcher (House District 14).

Candidates contending for the Owensboro City and Daviess County Commission seats have been invited to participate in a question and answer forum on Wednesday, October 25th, at 6:30 p.m. The Owensboro Human Relations Commission is co-sponsoring this event.

Candidates attending the forum are  Larry Conder, Andy Gambin, Meagan Hagan, Mike Koger, Larry Maglinger, Adam Marshall, Joseph Martin, Mark McCoy, Jeff Sanford, Rick Searcy, Charlie Shelton, Pam Smith-Wright and Jay Velotta.

Both forums will take place in the Taylor Lecture Hall located in the Science Building on Brescia University’s campus. Parking is available on surrounding streets and in the lot located off St. Ann Street.
