The Owensboro Public Schools Board of Education will consider providing written notice of the intent to terminate Superintendent Dr. Matthew Constant’s contract at their meeting Thursday. They will also consider changing his suspension from paid to unpaid.
Both moves are essentially the first steps in Constant’s official termination. The board will also consider granting the Board Chair the authority to engage a superintendent search consultant firm.
The board voted to suspend Constant with pay on May 25, pending an investigation by the Kentucky State Police. On May 25, KSP Trooper Corey King said no charges had been filed at that time, and they had hoped to wrap up the investigation within a couple of weeks. On Monday, King said he still had no updates to provide. No charges have been filed.
