The College View Middle School speech team completed their season this weekend, with three 6th-graders competing in the junior division state tournament at the University of Kentucky.
There were 23 schools and over 170 total competitors. CVMS had four entries in the tournament, and three of those advanced to semifinals: Kori Cecil in broadcasting, Annalise Able in storytelling, and Katie Easley in storytelling.
Abel finished 5th and Easley placed 6th in storytelling, while Cecil finished in the top 12 in broadcasting.
“What a wonderful result for what has been an incredibly challenging season,” said coach Karen Feldhaus. “These young competitors gave their best effort at every practice and competition and they did so while displaying great joy and kindness. It has been my pleasure to coach them. I cannot wait to see what they will accomplish in the next 2 years.”
