The University of Louisville School of Nursing – Owensboro Extension will host an informative session on Wednesday from 1-3 p.m., offering prospective students and their families an opportunity to tour the facilities, ask questions, and more.
Academic counselor Victoria Ochoa said the event also offers prospective students opportunities to interact with high-fidelity simulators. Assistant Professor and BSN Traditional and Accelerated Program Director Dr. Amy Higdon will collaborate with Ochoa on the information session.
“Faculty, staff, and current nursing students will be present to answer questions, and prospective students and their families will receive take-home information from our program presentation,” Ochoa said.
Ochoa said there would be a question-and-answer session to address questions about both transfer and dual credit courses that satisfy the Lower Division curriculum and additional options for completing prerequisite courses.
The UofL School of Nursing – Owensboro Extension is the only bachelor’s program for nursing in Owensboro. It began as a partnership between the University of Louisville and Owensboro Health, providing students in the community an opportunity to earn a BSN in a traditional format.
