Beverly’s Hearty Slice (BHS) will host a firework show in honor of Nicky Hayden and the Nicky Hayden Foundation this Friday. The show will begin at 8:30 p.m. at Fourth Street Baptist Church.

The Nicky Hayden Foundation donated funds to BHS on June 9 during Kentucky Motorsports Week. When Hayden’s sister Kathleen McFadden presented the check, she told Owsley they could use the funds however they wanted.

“When Kathleen told me to do whatever we wanted the funds, I knew we needed a way to honor Nicky Hayden,” said Travis Owsley, who formed BHS to honor his late mother. “Most of the communities we serve have never had a fireworks show. This is the perfect way to serve our communities while honoring Nicky.”

Before the fireworks, as with most BHS events, attendees can enjoy complimentary Little Caesars Pizza and bottled water .

“The Nicky Hayden Foundation has supported BHS since we started,” Owsely said. “Once Kathleen gave us her blessing, we knew we were ready to light the sky for Nicky.”

Travis Owsley created Beverly’s Hearty Slice (BHS) in September 2020, dishing out pizza and other goodies in underserved areas. Rain, snow, or shine, Owsley and his teams have served the community for over three years.

Like the nonprofit’s many other events, Owsley said this is another way for them to spread positivity, celebrate diversity, and provide hope.
