Another free “Brown Bag Lunch Concert” is taking place Tuesday, this time with the largest group of artists since the series began. With instruments including flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and French Horn, the concert features music by Mozart and Gounod.

Musicians include Leanne Hampton (flute), Kathleen Carter Bell (oboe), Erica Lovato (oboe) Kirsten Ahnell (clarinet), Leonel Marulanda (clarinet), Conor Bell (bassoon), Sara Fruehe (bassoon), Rebecca Salo (French horn), and Mikayla McCommas (French horn).

The lunch concert will be hosted by Trinity Episcopal Church (720 Ford Ave.) from 12:15-1 p.m. Concertgoers are invited to bring their own lunch to enjoy during the program. The event is sponsored by The Women of Note, a group of Owensboro women who support all music genres in the area.

The free lunchtime concert series was started in 2018 by Kentucky Wesleyan College Clarinet Professor Kirsten Ahnell. Ahnell’s intent is to bring music to the public. The programs are mostly classically oriented and feature small groups of musicians.

In order to help enlighten the audience, Ahnell acts as a moderator for the programs. She has the musicians speak about the composers and pieces they are performing, discuss their instruments and answer questions from the audience after the program.
