Daviess County Family Resource and Youth Service Centers are hosting a community-wide food drive in partnership with Walmart to give non-perishable food items to those in need during the holiday season.

Amy Nonweiler, FRYSC coordinator at College View Middle School, said the food donated will go toward families within the school system.

Nonweiler said it’s important to donate so the school is able to reach their goal to ensure each family has food during the holiday season.

“We just want to ensure that everyone has a positive, happy holiday season and we don’t ever, ever want to see a kid or family go without food,” Nonweiler said.

There will be drop-off stations at both the Frederica Street and Leitchfield Road locations from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and non-perishable items are accepted.
