The Green Valley Beekeepers Association’s next monthly meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Bittel Hall at the Daviess County Fairgrounds (6191 KY 54, Philpot). Everyone who has an interest in beekeeping is welcome and invited to attend.

Beekeeper Myra Teal of Newburgh, Indiana, will present the evening’s program. She has been featured on her local town’s magazine front cover with an article titled “Queen Bee” about her interest in beekeeping.

Teal’s most recent beekeeping accomplishments include being a winner of seven blue ribbon categories at Louisville’s annual Honey Show and a first-place winner for two years of the “Best of Show” award for creamed honey.

Teal will speak on extracting honey, making creamed honey, cooking honey recipes, and preparing honey products for competition at honey shows. Information will be available for the proper labeling requirements for honey in the state of Kentucky.
