According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a wind advisory in is effect from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m., CST, Wednesday.
An intense pressure gradient is expected with an approaching cold front and will generate wind gusts that may approach and exceed 40 mph tonight. Winds are expected to be sustained between 20 and 25 mph with wind gusts at 35 to 40 mph. Higher gusts may be possible near bands of rain showers.
Due to the winds, unsecured objects could be tossed around outdoors. Weakened tree limbs or trees may fall
on power lines and briefly cause power outages. Drivers of high profile vehicles, especially those traveling east or west, may encounter difficulty driving.
