Ashley Lanham partnered with her mother Mary McCrystal in 2019 to begin selling goat milk. The two realized one of their goats was pregnant, and they had nothing to do with the milk, so they began researching its uses.

After crafting several soap, lotion, and skin care items in Lanham’s she-shed, they took to the local vendor mall to begin selling products. Fast forward to now, and the two are opening Fern Willow Stables Boutique on Friday. Located at 1741A Scherm Road, the boutique will offer various gift options.

Fern Willow began in Spencer County before they moved the business to Owensboro to open the brick-and-mortar location. Lanham is originally from Ohio County but considers Owensboro home, and she’s ecstatic to open the storefront in her hometown.

“We have jewelry, accessories, home goods, clothes ranging in size from infant to 3X, sublimation, and personalized items,” Lanham said. “We started with the goats, making quality skin care items, and we’ve just grown from there.”

The store also features custom graphic T-shirts, hats, door hangers, beard oils and soaps for men, shaving kits, and more.

Fern Willows will host a grand opening on Friday morning at 11. To learn more about the shop, visit it on Facebook here
