Owensboro natives Stefan Swift and Justin Galloway opened Optimize U — a wellness clinic offering concierge hormone optimization therapy, athletic recovery, and weight-loss programs — on April 10. The organization originated in Paducah in 2017, since expanding into five additional states nationwide.
Swift said Optimize U avoids direction from insurance companies, who typically wouldn’t cover wellness and weight-loss programs. Swift and Galloway work closely with patients to assess their hormone levels and identify imbalances and deficiencies.
From there, they create a personalized treatment plan to optimize hormone function, continually monitoring progress.
“Our patients are typically amazed by how low their levels are and how much improvement can be made,” Swift said. “Many patients are told they have normal levels but still complain of low hormone symptoms. We stress that normal is not optimal, and we offer therapy to optimize hormone levels and help patients feel and perform their best.”
In addition to hormone and weight-loss therapy programs, Optimize U specializes in athletic recovery modalities. Those services include cold plunges, infrared saunas, red light therapy, compression therapy, and vibration plate therapy. They also offer peptide therapy, body composition analyses, and more.
Swift and Galloway entered the nursing field shortly after graduating from Owensboro Catholic High School. The two consider Owensboro the perfect place to raise a family, and they’re ecstatic to be a part of the Owensboro community.
“We both believe in the power of exercise as medicine for the body and mind,” Swift said. “We have strong ties to this city and area, which makes us passionate about bringing Optimize U to Owensboro. The services we offer are severely lacking in this area.”
The clinic is at 4010 Frederica Street, Suite 2 — near the Owensboro Athletic Club and the Gracie Owensboro Jiu Jitsu Academy.
Swift said Optimize U’s ultimate goal is to bring compassionate and comprehensive care to put patients in control of their health. They also want to offer safe and effective lifestyle treatment.
“We offer expertise on a topic that is much more complicated and nuanced than most providers are aware of,” Swift said. “The most rewarding part of what we do is the follow-up encounters where our patients express how much better they feel and how much their lifestyle has improved. We want to offer those benefits to the people in this community that we love so much.”
