Wayne Baker was running a successful construction company – Building by Wayne – during the ’80s and ’90s when he partnered with a locally owned and operated restoration company to add to his list of services. When the restoration company’s owner retired, Baker decided to become a one-stop shop for all things restoration.
“Restoration services are very much needed in our community,” said marketing representative Amber Farmer. “If there is a house fire or if a business has a fire, services such as ours help people get their lives back together and restore the home or business to the condition it was before the fire, or better.”
The company has grown and evolved over the past three decades, prompting them to find a larger space. They now reside at 4100 Vincent Station Drive in Owensboro.
Farmer said they attribute much of their success to the support of the local community and the many partnerships they’ve formed over the years.
“Being part of the Owensboro community means to be part of organizations that help our business grow and succeed, such as the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce and Home Builders Association of Owensboro,” she said. “It also means for us to be part of and support other local organizations as they give us business to help us.”
Disaster Team offers extreme fire restoration, extreme water restoration, mold remediation, contents cleaning, trauma clean-up, meth clean-up, odor control, storm damage, emergency board up and tarping, vehicle impact to a home or business, reconstruction, and general construction services to residential and commercial customers.
They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year to manage claims from start to finish. They handle all elements of demolition, reconstruction, and contents cleaning.
The second-generation company operates within a one-hour radius of Owensboro, including southern Indiana. They pride themselves on forming positive relationships with homeowners and insurance companies to help settle claims on homes and businesses.
“We are locally owned and operated by people that grew up in this community and want to contribute to the community by helping it thrive,” Farmer said. “Our services are well needed in this community when a disaster happens. Disasters happen daily in our community whether you see them or not.”
