Home goods retailer Tuesday Morning will be closing its Owensboro store, along with hundreds of others nationwide, after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this week. Store closing sales are already underway at the affected locations.
The Owensboro store is located at 2600 Calumet Trace in Gateway Commons off KY 54. The retailer published a list of more than 260 stores closing soon (see the list here), and is advertising that everything in the store will be on sale.
This marks the second time in three years Tuesday Morning has filed for bankruptcy.
In a February 14 press release, Chief Executive Officer and Director Andrew Berger said the company had “exceedingly burdensome debt” but that a capital provider left executives confident they will “emerge as a stronger retailer that draws on a legacy of offering a unique off-price value proposition to our loyal customer base.”
As part of their restructuring, Tuesday Morning is “winding down unprofitable and underperforming stores” and “intends to close stores in low-traffic regions while allocating the proper resources to remaining stores in high-traffic regions,” according to the release.
