The Women’s Guild of Owensboro will host its annual Spring Luncheon on May 7-8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden at the WeatherBerry House.

Angela Woosley, luncheon chair, said the serene setting will be the perfect backdrop for the cherished community tradition.

Guests will enjoy the familiar luncheon menu, including the Guild’s signature chicken salad and Grace’s sweet tea. Matt Weafer of Niko’s Bakery & Café will once again provide scratch-made biscuits, a crowd favorite.

New this year, guests can view a special showcase of artistry, furniture, collectibles, fine china, and other unique items selected by Guild members. Woosley said the curated exhibition “adds a fresh, personal touch to the event and reinforces the Guild’s longstanding support for the arts in Owensboro.”

The afternoon will also feature live music from performers associated with the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum, including Randy Lanham and guests, as well as the Owensboro Symphony’s jazz quartet. Local artists Katie Lowing, Alli Vitali, Iris Gentry, and Isabel Wethington will have work on display.

Now in its 80-plus year history, the Women’s Guild remains composed of no more than 80 active members at a time. Proceeds from the luncheon benefit nonprofit organizations throughout Owensboro.

“Whether acting as servers, hostesses, greeters, or photographers, every member plays a role in bringing this event to life,” Woosley said.

Tickets are available for both days. Woosley encouraged the community to attend, saying the event offers “an unforgettable afternoon filled with hospitality, heartfelt connection, and a shared mission to give back.”
