More than 3,000 tree seedlings will be available for free on Thursday thanks to the annual giveaway initiative by the Daviess County Conservation District.
The giveaway will be held at Yellow Creek Park at 5710 KY 144. Distribution begins at 8 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m., or while supplies last. Organizers said that for the last few years, supplies have run out by lunch or shortly after. There is a limit of 10 seedlings per person.
This year’s seedling selections include: Eastern Redbud, Flowering Dogwood, Cypress, Pecan, Persimmon, Black Cherry, Black Walnut, Yellow Poplar, White Oak, and White Pine.
