The Owensboro Symphony will close out its 59th season with a cosmic finale, including John Williams’ music from “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.” Led by Music Director Troy Quinn, the “Cosmic Worlds” concert is set for April 19 at the RiverPark Center.
The evening will also include Waxman’s A Place in the Sun Suite and Holst’s The Planets, along with renowned saxophonist Kenneth Radnofsky featuring as a guest soloist.
“Kenneth is a true saxophone legend,” Quinn said. “This season, we have been honored to host exceptionally talented guest artists from across the globe and to present some of the best music in the universe. With this epic finale, we are launching into a grand celebration for our 60th season.”
The symphony’s leadership said the performance will serve as a launching pad for next season while reflecting on the support that has sustained the organization.
“As we draw near to the final concert of our 59th season, I am inspired by the incredible opportunity we have as an organization to thrive within a community that deeply values the arts,” said Gwyn Payne, CEO of the Owensboro Symphony. “We are grateful to our donors, patrons, corporate and community partners, administrative team, and our extraordinary musicians for their vital roles in making this season an unforgettable experience.”
