Kentucky Wesleyan College is presenting “Carrie The Musical” this weekend, an adaptation of the well-known horror fiction novel by Stephen King. Directed by Preston Middleton, KWC’s show will run from Thursday through Sunday at the Jack T. Wells Activity Center.

Based on King’s novel and adapted into a musical by Lawrence D. Cohen, Dean Pitchford, and Michael Gore, “Carrie The Musical” delves into the turbulent journey of Carrie White, a misfit high school girl with telekinetic powers. The musical adaptation brings a modern twist to the classic horror tale, exploring themes of bullying and redemption.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 3-5. A matinee will take place at 2 p.m. on April 6. Ticket prices are $18 for general admission, $12 for students with a valid ID, and $15 for KWC staff and faculty. Tickets can be purchased via the KWC event page.

The production warns that it includes adult themes and language and may not be suitable for all audiences. Additionally, it incorporates strobe lights, which could affect photosensitive viewers.
