United Way of the Ohio Valley distributed more than $100,000 in grant funding to local nonprofits Wednesday as part of its 2025–26 Impact Grant program, an initiative focused on affordable housing, homelessness, and financial stability.
The Impact Grant program provides funding to nonprofits that are not currently traditional United Way partners. A total of $106,500 was awarded to seven organizations, and each grant was capped at $20,000.
This year’s recipients include:
- Daniel Pitino Shelter – Homelessness – $20,000
- St. Benedict’s Shelter – Homelessness – $20,000
- Fresh Start for Women – Affordable Housing – $20,000
- Habitat for Humanity – Affordable Housing – $20,000
- Lighthouse Recovery – Affordable Housing – $10,000
- Help Office of Ohio County – Financial Stability – $10,000
- Green River Asset Building Coalition – Financial Stability – $6,500
Eligible agencies had to provide services in one of three areas: affordable housing, homelessness support, or financial stability programs aimed at helping families and individuals achieve lasting self-sufficiency.
United Way officials said the organization has been gathering data in recent years to better address unmet needs in the community. Funds from the annual campaign were set aside to support the Impact Grant initiative as part of their broader poverty reduction strategy.
