Since launching her solo career in 2008, she has earned four Irish Music Association Awards, including Best Solo Singer and Best Harpist.
“We are thrilled to have Orla on stage with the Owensboro Symphony,” said Gwyn Payne, CEO of the Owensboro Symphony. “Her captivating performances and stunning voice have enchanted audiences worldwide, making her a standout star in the world of music.”
The concert will feature a selection of celebrated Irish compositions, including Bill Whelan’s Cloudsong from Riverdance, Percy Grainger’s Molly on the Shore, Henry Cowell’s Flirtatious Jig, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Rhosymedre from Three Preludes, and Leroy Anderson’s classic Irish Suite.
Ahead of the performance, concertgoers are invited to “Behind the Music with Troy Quinn,” a pre-concert discussion in Cannon Hall from 6:15 to 6:40 p.m. The session, sponsored by Baird – The Settle Group, offers insights into the evening’s program.
