Owensboro Community & Technical College is inviting prospective students to learn more about its Veterinary Technology program by attending a pre-admission conference before applying for the Fall 2025 semester.

Students interested in pursuing a career in veterinary technology must attend at least one of the following sessions:

  • February 26, 4-5 p.m. (Virtual via Microsoft Teams)
  • March 25, 5-6 p.m. (In-person at OCTC Downtown Campus, Room 23/Vet Tech Teaching Hospital, 1501 Frederica Street, Owensboro)

The two-year Veterinary Technology program prepares graduates for careers in animal healthcare and qualifies them to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). Coursework includes topics such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, radiology, surgical nursing, and clinical pathology. The program provides hands-on lab and clinical experiences to help students develop essential skills for the field.

For those interested in exploring veterinary technology without committing to the full program, OCTC is now offering VET 100 – Introduction to Veterinary Technology to all students, with no prerequisites required. The online course provides an overview of hospital operations, professional ethics, animal behavior, preventative health, and nutrition.

The Veterinary Technology program has limited seats available each year, and applications for the Fall 2025 semester are now open through May 1.

For more information, attend a pre-admission conference or contact Dr. Laura Boarman at 270-686-4585 or [email protected].

Additional details about the program can be found at OCTC Veterinary Technology Program.
