Daviess County Farm Bureau Insurance agents Mandie Hicks and Gavin Roberts have been recognized as 2025 Master Agents by Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) Insurance, earning one of the company’s top honors for superior overall performance and customer service. Hicks said she is the first and only female agent in Daviess County history to receive the Master Agent designation.

Hicks, who works out of the Daviess County Farm Bureau – Central office, is among only seven agents statewide to qualify this year out of more than 400 KFB agents.

“This designation recognizes five years of production, customer service, and persistency,” Hicks said. “You have to qualify three out of the last five years to earn it, which makes it very difficult. Most years, fewer than 10 agents qualify.”

Hicks said she attributes her success to consistently prioritizing her client’s best interests.

“I think I’ll always contribute my success to just doing the right thing for people year after year,” she said. “I don’t cold-call or go after people. It’s all word of mouth — helping someone’s mom, sister, or friend — and that brings people to me. Now, I’m starting to see the fruits of that labor.”

She also credited her team of 10 staff members for providing superior customer service.

“We’re the ones out at a charity event or fundraiser, but they’re the ones answering phones, processing claims, and helping us serve our policyholders,” Hicks said. “Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.”

Roberts, who serves as agency manager for Daviess County Farm Bureau – Central, earned the Master Agent designation for the 17th time. He was also named Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance’s 2024 Agency Manager of the Year, as well as the Agency Manager of the Year for District One.

Recognizing his leadership and achievements, KFB Insurance officials said Roberts’ awards are based on overall sales production, loss ratio, customer service, and a strong attitude toward serving policyholders.

Hicks said working alongside Roberts has been instrumental in her own development.

“I am learning from the best of the best – not just in Farm Bureau or Kentucky, but on a national level,” Hicks said. “Gavin is one of the best insurance agents in the country, and his commitment has been an example for me.”

Beyond professional recognition, Hicks said she takes pride in showing young women and working mothers that success in a demanding industry is possible.

“I usually am kind of quiet about it, but no female ever wins these awards that I’ve gotten,” Hicks said. “When I’m mentoring other women or girls that are in high school and college, I want them to see that I’m still a mom. That’s what makes me most proud.”
