The Owensboro Dance Theatre (ODT) will hold open auditions for its upcoming production, “In Concert Featuring Willy Wonka & The Golden Ticket.” Boys and girls aged 6 to 13 are invited to audition for a chance to join the cast as extra performers in the show.
Auditions are scheduled for January 7 from 7-7:30 p.m. at Johnson’s Dance Studio, located at 2705 Breckenridge Street. Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to complete registration forms.
A $75 performance fee will be required upon acceptance into the show, but it’s not due at the time of the audition, according to ODT.
Rehearsals will take place the weekend of January 24-26, with additional rehearsals leading up to the performance dates.
The show will include both school and public performances. School performances are set for March 13 at 9:15 a.m., and March 14 at 9:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Public performances will be held on March 15 at 7 p.m. and March 16 at 3 p.m.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for young performers to gain stage experience and be part of a creative adaptation of a beloved classic,” said ODT’s Jaysie Royal.
