Swimmer Lilly King, an Olympic gold medalist, will speak in Owensboro next month at the Trailblazer Dinner, an event geared at sharing empowering stories with middle and high school students, particularly young women and their guardians.
The event is hosted by Owensboro Community & Technical College and presented by Independence Bank. The dinner will be held at OCTC’s Blandford Lecture Hall in the Humanities Building on the main campus at 4800 New Hartford Road. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., with check-in and the program starting at 4:30 p.m.
The event is open to the public. The evening includes a free meal, an OCTC information bag with swag, and a limited number of tT-shirts available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

King is a native of Evansville, Indiana, and began swimming at the age of 7. She committed to Indiana University after a successful youth career, and then won two gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
King has since added three more Olympic medals, multiple world records, and 17 world titles to her career. Outside the pool, she enjoys inspiring young athletes and supporting local organizations through public speaking engagements and clinics.
