Barber Club of Owensboro blends tradition and modern style with a unique offering, with the owners saying customers can enjoy a glass of bourbon or beer while receiving a premium grooming service. Owned by Nicole Ringkor, the shop opened its doors on March 1 and strives to set itself apart by combining high-quality haircuts with an upscale atmosphere.

“We wanted to offer something different — something classy but also family-oriented,” Ringkor said. “We’re not just giving out quick, 15-minute haircuts. We offer a full-service experience, from hot shaves to straight razor lineups and facials. It’s about taking our time to make sure every client feels pampered.”

One of the shop’s standout features is the option for clients to sip bourbon or beer during their appointment. While that could suggest a bar vibe, Ringkor stressed that the Barber Club is still very much a family-friendly space.

Ringkor operates the shop with Justen Hayden, who is no stranger to the Owensboro barber scene. He echoed Ringkor’s sentiment.

“There’s a two-drink limit, and it’s strictly for clients getting a service,” Hayden said. “You can’t just walk in off the street for a drink. It’s about enhancing the experience, not replacing it.”

Since acquiring their liquor license just a few weeks ago, Ringkor said they’ve seen a great response, with customers eager to try the new service.

“We had people coming in for beers even before we officially announced it. Now we’re hoping our bourbon selection will catch on, too,” she said. “We’re trying to secure high-end bourbons, but it can be tricky; we are working on expanding our offerings.”

The Barber Club isn’t just about the drinks, though. Ringkor said It’s about creating a comfortable, welcoming environment.

“People talk about the vibe here a lot,” she said. “We make a point to talk to everyone who walks in the door, whether it’s a regular client or a grandma bringing in her grandson for a back-to-school cut. It’s a place where everyone feels at ease.”

The shop mostly operates on an appointment basis and has attracted a loyal customer base. Hayden expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received.

“We’re so thankful for the guys who’ve followed us from other shops and helped spread the word,” he said. “We’ve had people come in saying they heard about us from a friend. That word of mouth means more to us than any Facebook post.”

In addition to offering traditional haircuts, Barber Club provides beard trims, facials, and grooming packages. Ringkor said they deliver more than just a haircut.

“It’s about creating an experience,” she said. “We want people to come in, relax, and leave feeling like they had more than just a haircut.”

Ringkor and Hayden said they plan to expand their team and add more barbers. Click here to learn more about Barber Club.
