The Owensboro Health Community Pharmacy opened Monday inside The Springs, with officials saying the location is designed to enhance convenience and accessibility for patients and the community. It will offer several services and includes a drive-thru.
The pharmacy is officially located at 2200 East Parrish Avenue, Building B, Suite 102. The pharmacy will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“The pharmacy will offer a range of services that cater to the diverse health needs of the community,” a release from OH said. “With a drive-thru window for quick and easy prescription pick-up, patients can manage their medications from the comfort of their cars. The pharmacy also provides regular monthly refills, ensuring that patients stay on track with their medication regimen.”
An expanded selection of vaccines, including those for international travel, will also be available.
The pharmacy offers limited compounding services to create custom prescriptions for those requiring specialized medications. Customers can also browse an extensive selection of over-the-counter medications and health essentials.
“This new facility aligns with Owensboro Health’s commitment to expanding services and providing our patients and community with comprehensive, convenient care,” said Jason Collins, Owensboro Health Executive Director of Pharmacy. “We are thrilled to offer this new option that makes it easier for individuals and families to access the medications and health services they need.”
Changes at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy
The Outpatient Pharmacy will continue to provide specialized services focused on hospital patients, offering direct care for inpatients. The Meds2Go service ensures that discharged patients have their medications delivered, with officials saying it makes the transition from hospital to home smoother.
The pharmacy also offers coordinated prescription services for Owensboro Health Medical Group patients located in the OHRH Medical Office Building.
Coming in late fall or early winter 2024, the outpatient pharmacy will provide durable medical equipment for health and recovery needs and will offer curb-side pick-up spots for discharged patients from the emergency department for quick and easy access.
