Josh’s Broken Feather, a local nonprofit, recently renewed their partnership with the Owensboro Community & Technical College Foundation to provide a scholarship and support GED achievement at OCTC. Scholarship awards are made with a preference given to students who are currently attending or have successfully completed a substance abuse program and are enrolled in certificate, diploma, or degree programming offered at OCTC
“We are immensely grateful for the support from Josh’s Broken Feather,” said Sydney Warren, OCTC Foundation Executive Director and Chief Institutional Advancement Officer for OCTC. “Their generosity has continued to make an impact on the lives of our students, particularly those who are overcoming personal challenges to pursue their educational and career goals. This partnership not only provides financial assistance but also offers hope and a pathway to a brighter future for many. We look forward to continuing this partnership.”
Josh’s Broken Feather’s recent financial gift will continue to provide scholarships during the 2024-2025 academic year.
“We know our son Josh would want everyone facing addiction issues to know you are worth it,” said Teddy and Althe Hatfield, respectively the CEO and President of Josh’s Broken Feather. “That is why we have adopted those words into our motto ‘you are worth it…let us show you.’ And working in conjunction with OCTC has allowed those words to be shown through actions.”
Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC President said the partnership helps students “be successful and stay on the path to a wonderful future. Through their continued support, our students have the resources they need to pursue their education and enter a rewarding career that will change their lives.”
