Kitty Jones has been appointed director of membership for the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce. She replaces Shelly Nichols, who recently announced her departure.
“I look forward to engaging with our community, fostering strong relationships, and supporting the growth and success of our local businesses. I am thrilled to be part of such a dynamic and impactful organization while growing alongside a team of strong women,” Jones said.
Jones joins the Chamber after working at Puzzle Pieces as the director of employment opportunities. There, she led a team of 10 supported employment specialists, who, under her leadership, were named the 2023 Education and Workforce Development Institution of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce.
In her new position, Jones will preside over all membership connections with the Chamber of Commerce, along with all membership-related initiatives.
“[Kitty’s] depth of involvement in the community, her deep understanding of our Chamber, and her love for Owensboro make her a standout in all she does,” Chamber President and CEO Candance Castlen Brake said. “Our members deserve a Chamber that is working tirelessly to ensure that they have the tools they need to thrive and grow. Kitty is a natural advocate and will work tirelessly for our members.”
Jones is a 2021 graduate of Leadership Owensboro. She currently serves as the head cheer coach for Daviess County High School, where she has been coaching for the last 5 years (17 years overall) and has brought home the school’s first-ever cheer state championship.
