Athletes from iTumble & Bounce showcased their skills at the recent 2024 USTA National Trampoline & Tumbling Competition in Louisville, securing multiple top-10 finishes across various events.
The team saw standout performances from its athletes in trampoline, double-mini trampoline, and power tumbling. Among the high achievers were Kaylie Beth Thompson, Chloe Shivers, and Lake McDuffee, who were crowned 2024 National Champions in their respective categories.
Thompson, a first-year competitor, secured 3rd place in double-mini trampoline, 7th in trampoline, and 10th in tumbling. Shivers, competing at Nationals for the third time, placed 2nd in trampoline and 9th in tumbling, earning her first national championship title.
McDuffee is a team veteran and iTumble’s highest-level competitor at the advanced and sub-advanced levels. McDuffee made it to the podium again this year, placing 3rd in tumbling and 4th in double-mini trampoline.
Head Coach Renee King said that some of the national qualifiers included 80+ athletes in their respective age groups/levels and that all team members performed at their personal best.
“That is a testament to their hard work and our coaching staff’s dedication,” King said.
Looking ahead, iTumble & Bounce is poised for further growth. The team has expanded from 13 to 20 athletes, and new equipment is being installed to support the advanced training needs of the growing team.
King said Alyssa Vonder Haar, PT, DPT, with Rehabilitation & Sports Performance, has also joined the team as the fitness and conditioning coach.
“The team is looking forward to an exciting new year,” King said.
