After performing their annual Concert on the Lawn in August and Symphony Stroll in September, the Owensboro Symphony will kick off its five-concert season with a Halloween-themed show in October.
The 59th season begins Troy Quinn’s eighth season with the Symphony as the music director. Over the course of the season, presented by Owensboro Health, the Symphony will perform concerts spanning celebrated works from the symphonic repertoire, the best of television and movies, holiday favorites, the Celtic Renaissance, and more.
“Continuing this journey fills me with joy, and I always look forward to an exciting and memorable season ahead,” Quinn said. “The vibrancy and sheer joy of music-making that our orchestra creates in every concert is truly wonderful, and we are excited for everyone to join us as we share these programs together. I believe there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”
Symphony CEO Gwyn Payne said the season showcases the talented musicians and will bring in world-class artists.
“If you’re looking for an unforgettable evening, I highly recommend attending a concert,” Payne said. “The energy and atmosphere are truly amazing, and it’s an experience that will stay with you. It’s an incredible opportunity to have a great time and create lasting memories.”
Two free community concerts that will take place before the season begins are the annual Concert on the Lawn presented by U.S. Bank on August 24 on the lawn of Kentucky Wesleyan College, followed by the fifth annual Symphony Stroll sponsored by Jagoe Homes on September 27 on the Owensboro Riverfront.
