The Diocese of Owensboro, Kentucky Wesleyan College, and Brescia University will host the Global Leadership Summit at the Jack Wells Center on August 8-9. The event aims to provide leadership training for the region.
Founded by Willow Creek Church, the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) is celebrating its 30th year.
Owensboro will technically serve as a host site for the event, but the presentations will be broadcast virtually on a screen in the Jack Wells Center.
The event will feature more than 15 globally recognized speakers on the big screen, including:
- Craig Groeschel, Founder and Senior Pastor of Life.Church
- Amy C. Edmondson, Professor at Harvard Business School
- Marcus Buckingham, Founder of the Strengths Revolution
- Carey Lohrenz, First Female F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot in the U.S. Navy
- Mike Krzyzewski, Former Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Duke University
- Joni Eareckson Tada, Founder and CEO of Joni and Friends
Several break-out sessions also have activities, discussions, and additional learning opportunities.
“GLS is a dynamic event to gather your team, encourage personal growth, and dream together,” said Jeff Andrini, the director of the office of evangelization and discipleship at the Diocese of Owensboro.
Danny May, director of the Office of Marriage and Family Life for the Diocese, reflected on his previous experience with the event.
“I enjoyed GLS very much and took a lot of notes from several interesting, encouraging, and inspiring presenters. I encourage anyone in leadership, especially in church leadership, to attend GLS,” May said.
Tickets are available for $99 for educators, students, first responders, nurses, and military personnel. The event is open to businesses, nonprofits, and church leaders. Early bird registration is available for $209.
