Fourth Street Baptist Church is hosting a “One Love Praise Party” on July 12 with a goal of bringing the community together around one thing: music.

Minister Rhonda Pearson said that music is a great connector for everyone, regardless of where they came from before entering the church doors. She said the event is based around a verse in Phillippians that says, “Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.”

“It’s all about unity in the community,” Pearson said. “Fourth Street is hosting the event, but we invite everyone to join us, no matter your age, race, social status, denomination, or home church.”

She said the event is not just a concert for people to attend but a party that will be full of praise for what people have overcome.

In her own life, Pearson said, she can look back and think about the moments she’s been through where God has shown up. She said this event is designed to bring people together to celebrate their own growth over time.

“When I think about the goodness of Jesus and all that He’s done for me and my family, I get excited, and I know I’m not the only one. When most of us think about where we started and where we are today, we all have a reason to praise,” she said.

Music acts include Alma Randolph Crump; Louisville groups St. Stephen Praise Team and Cynthia Maxwell; The Gospel Troops from Bowling Green, and Nashville-based group Sister to Sister in Christ.

Tickets to the event are available here and cost $25 each.
