The Daylilies at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden are in full bloom this time of year, and the Garden is hosting its annual Daylilies Festival on July 6 to celebrate the over 800 flowers.
Laurna Strehl, WKBG Executive Director, said the festival changed format last year, turning the Garden into a night in nature, fully surrounding guests with flowers. After the turnout last year, they are moving forward with the new format.
“This event offers a unique opportunity to experience the botanical garden after hours. We have a very large daylily display bed that will set the atmosphere for a fun, family-friendly nature experience.”
Strehl said to bring a lawn chair to ensure guests get a great seat for the sights and sounds of the garden.
The festival starts at 4 p.m. in the Garden and promises a silent disco for guests to enjoy. Other activities include live music, a photo booth, food trucks, a cash bar, a petting zoo and ‘Bubble Wonderland’
The event costs $8 for adults, while students and children are $2. Tickets are available at the door. For more information on the Festival, click here.
