On January 31, 2022, Bell Bank announced it was growing its footprint and expanding to Owensboro. On March 21, they hired the first manager, completing the staff shortly after.
After securing a location downtown at 234 Frederica Street, the new workforce moved into a temporary space on the second floor while renovations began on floors three, four, and five. Once they completed construction in the spring of 2023, the 43-member crew moved to floors four and five.
Earlier this summer, Bell Bank hosted its grand opening, which included a reception and ribbon cutting with representatives from the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce and several other local businesses.
“We’re very excited that in our first year, we’ve already been able to hire more than 40 employees here in Owensboro,” said Vice President and Customer Relations Manager Pam Johnson. “They are great stewards of our core values and how we pay it forward in the community.”
According to Johnson, Bell Bank Mortgage services 60,000 loans in 35 states for various borrowers, investors, and insurers. The mortgage company is a division of Bell Bank – a rapidly growing family and employee-owned bank.
“As our company continues to grow, we expect to keep building our team here,” she said. “The people of Owensboro have unique talents and solid work ethics.”
Bell has been recognized by Fortune, Forbes, and People Magazine, which recently named Bell one of the “100 companies that care.” Johnson said their motto is to treat each other and their customers like family – how they would want to be treated.
