Ghostly Productions is set to kick off the Halloween season with a special event on Saturday, September 7, featuring Lee Waddell, the original Ghostface from “Scream” and “Scream 2.”
Fans of the iconic horror franchise will have the opportunity to meet Waddell and take photos with him in full Ghostface costume.
Owner Payton Ford said this year’s Kickoff to Halloween will be the biggest yet.
“The Kickoff to Halloween is a celebration of the return of our favorite time of year, but to us at Ghostly Productions, and to many others within the community, Halloween and horror is something that lasts all year,” Ford said. “We have a lot of really talented artists and local businesses vending at this event. Being able to come meet the man behind such an iconic character like Ghostface and being able to check out the vendor area is really special.”
Ford said he wants to encourage the community to come out and celebrate the return of the spooky season and support these artists and businesses.
As a “big fan” of the Scream franchise, Ford said he is excited to have the original Ghostface in his store signing autographs.
The event will also feature a variety of food trucks and a vendor fair. St. Ann Street will be closed to traffic to accommodate the festivities and provide space for the new vendors participating this year.
There is no cost to attend.
“We enjoy kicking off Halloween here in Owensboro because we are one of only two locally-owned, year-round Halloween stores,” Ford said. “Once the calendar flips to November, we continue delivering all new products to the shelves and support the local horror community all year.”
