Owensboro Summer camps kicking off; here’s quick list

Looking for something to keep your children active in Owensboro-Daviess County this summer? Many organizations and businesses across the community have several activities, camps, and programs for youth to get involved in. Here’s a quick list of some of the things coming up.

Youth Soccer Camp
June 10-13
Ages 4-10
Mighty Kicks Summer Camp is run by nationally licensed coach Zach Salchli, who has 20 years of coaching experience and serves as a Grassroots Educator for Kentucky Youth Soccer and Ohio Soccer Association.

This camp is highly focused on developing and improving ball control and manipulation while providing players opportunities to engage in small-sided play that encourages lots of 1v1 opportunities. The program focuses on individual player development. Our program combines developmentally appropriate activities and a fun environment to create the best camp experience for children.

Art Lab Owensboro’s Science Camp
June 10-13
Ages 8-12
Step into the role of a young scientist at Art Lab’s Science Sleuth Camp, where imagination meets the thrilling world of science. Designed for eager learners aged 8 to 12, this camp marries an engaging narrative with hands-on scientific exploration.

Art Lab says “Each day unfolds a new chapter of our story, guiding campers through experiments illuminating the wonders of chemistry, physics, astronomy, and environmental science. With all materials provided, including lab coats, safety goggles, and lab journals, campers are fully equipped for a week of discovery and adventure.” Register here; the camp is $150.

Art Lab Owensboro’s Beach Party Camp
June 10-14
Grades Kindergarten – 6th
Art Lab says “Perfect for kids finishing kindergarten through 6th grade, this camp offers a wave of creativity and excitement.” Register here; camp is $135.

Art Lab The Cat’s Meow Art Camp
June 17-20
Grades Kindergarten-6th
Art Lab says “Welcome to the ‘Cat’s Meow’ art camp, where curiosity and creativity come together in a ‘purr-fect’ blend of fun and learning. Tailored for young artists from kindergarten through 6th grade, this camp offers a unique opportunity to explore the whimsical world of our feline friends through a variety of artistic mediums.”

The camp runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Register here; the camp is $135.

Apollo Cheer Summer Youth Camp
June 20-21
Grades Kindergarten – 5th
This camp, held by the Apollo High School Cheer team, will give students the chance to grow in their cheer abilities and learn new cheers. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $45 per student, with a $35 additional student discount. Register here.

Summer Basketball Camp
June 24-27
Ages 6-18
Corey Wilford and Tyler Brown are partnering for their inaugural Sportscenter Summer Basketball Camp. They will offer co-ed sessions to beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level players. They said it has been a few years since their last camp, but they are glad to bring it to the Sportscenter courts. The cost is $150 per player, with a sibling discount available. Kindermusik Beach Days Summer Camp
June 24-27
Ages 1-8
During this musical camp, Kindermusik will explore the sights and sounds of the beach through songs, dances, vocal play, stories, snacks, crafts, and more. Get ready to scuttle like a crab, wiggle in the sand, and listen to the waves crashing onto the beach. Like a beach trip, each day will be filled with fun and sun. Learn more and register here.

Sportstutor Futsal Camp (Indoor)
June 24-27
Ages 7-16
Join SportsTutor for four days of futsal. They offer a morning session from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for boys and girls born between 2012-2017 and an afternoon session from 2-5 p.m. for players born between 2008-2011. Email Ty Stauffer here to register.

Owensboro Community and Technical College Theatre Summer Camp
July 8-19, Monday-Friday
Ages 10-18
This 2-week camp features professionals working with students to gain confidence onstage, enhance their performance skills, and create a space for further theatrical growth. Camp will run Monday through Friday from July 8-19 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. At the end of the 2 weeks, students will present a performance of Little Mermaid Jr. The camp costs $100 per student. Owensboro Catholic Youth Cheer Camp
July 23-25
Grades Kindergarten – 6th
Hosted by Owensboro Catholic middle and high schools, participants will learn a new cheer and dance to be performed at the OCHS Football Season Opener, receive a Cheer Camp T-Shirt, and more. The camp is $60 per camper with a $40 sibling discount. Register here.
