Daviess County Fiscal Court has announced the five agencies that will benefit from this year’s Christmas at Panther Creek event. The holiday light display will run from November 25 through January 2, 2023 at Panther Creek Park.
The agencies were selected at random and will collectively receive half of the total event proceeds.
Those agencies are:
- Wendell Foster
- Joe Ford Nature Center
- Southern Oaks Elementary PTO
- Elite SAR Training
- Audubon Area Community Services
“Christmas at Panther Creek is a time-honored tradition in Daviess County with more than 50 displays and 500,000 lights,” Ross Leigh, Director of Parks & Recreation, said previously. “The gate admission is collected by nonprofit organizations that supply volunteers for one week during the display.”
The organizations will have volunteers at the gate, accepting the $5 vehicle admission.
More than $38,000 was raised through last season’s Christmas at Panther Creek, the second-highest amount ever generated from the event. A record amount of $49,300 was raised in 2020, while the prior record was set the year before with $20,840.
