Though the city’s Trail of Treats is cancelled, there are still plenty of events for families this Halloween, costumes optional. Here’s a list of some the planned activities coming up starting today and lasting through Sunday.

Oct. 27
- Kentucky Wesleyan Trunk-or-Treat
Kentucky Wesleyan College will host the 7th Annual Trunk-or-Treat on from 5:30-6:45 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Yu Hak Hahn Center for the Sciences on Wesleyan Way. - Pleasant Valley Community Church Trunk-or-Treat
The church’s annual event is from 6-8 p.m. with more than 50 trunks and over 1 ton of candy.
Oct. 28
- A LOT of Treats
Members of the community have come together to organize their own event that is being called “a LOT of Treats.” The event will be held in the parking lot of the former Macy’s at Towne Square Mall from 4-8 p.m. Greater Owensboro Realty Co. is hosting and proceeds from donations are going toward local nonprofits Friends of Sinners and My Sister’s Keeper.
Oct. 29
- Trunk-or-Treat at Jerry Ray Davis Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram
The car dealership is hosting a trunk-or-treat. Guests are invited and welcome to wear costumes and enjoy the chili cookoff between the employers. Samples of the chili and all the candy will be available for guests. - HalloWine Bash & Brew
After a month of fall activities, Trunnell’s is hosting their HalloWine Bash & Brew where people are able to dress in costumes and sample different wines. The “trick-or-tasting” will start at 5:30 p.m. and go until 10:30 p.m. There will be food and live entertainment and a variety of costume contests to compete in. - Mile Wide Halloween Party
Mile Wide Beer Company is teaming up with Ghostly Productions to put on a “true horror-style Halloween party” down at their 2nd Street location. From 7 p.m. to midnight, guests will be able to enjoy the festivities and are encouraged to dress in costumes. There will be a variety of contests to compete in. - 5th Annual Cork & Cuisine Happy HalloWine
The Owensboro Convention Center will be holding the 5th Annual Cork & Cuisine Happy HalloWine. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their costumes and partake in the contests. There will be HalloWine Bingo for the change to win prizes and a Halloween-themed centerpiece by Ivy Trellis. Masks are required indoors unless they are eating or drinking at the table. Events start at 6 p.m. Tickets required. - Rocky Horror Picture Show
The RiverPark Center is showing the Rocky Horror Picture Show put on by their Shadow Cast Crew. The production will follow the plot of the cult classic. Tickets are $15 each and a participation bag is included in the purchase. The show starts at 10 p.m.
Oct. 30
- Northwest Neighborhood Alliance Trunk-or-Treat
The Northwest Neighborhood and the Owensboro Black Expo are hosting an afternoon trunk-or-treat at Kendall-Perkins Park. The event, from 1-3 p.m. plans to have music from DJ Up Vibe, lots of food, prizes and candy. - Dugan Best Recreation Center Halloween Party
Head to Dugan Best Recreation Center to enjoy trunk-or-treating from 3-6 p.m. plus a party full of activities. There will be tons of food, candy, games, a costume contest and activities for all ages. - Bellevue Baptist Church Harvest Festival
The church (4950 Hwy 56) is holding a Harvest Festival from 4-6:30 p.m. featuring a Trunk-or-Treat, hayrides, and a free sack dinner (hotdogs/chips/drink). - Boo Fest at Diamond Lake Resort
Diamond Lake Resort is hosting their Boo Fest where families can come out and spend the weekend at the campgrounds. There will be a pumpkin patch with painting, trick-or-treating, photo session, and bicycle, campsite, golf cart and costume decorating contests. There will also be a Haunted House open from 7-10 p.m. which costs $10. - Halloween Market at the Farmer’s Market
The Farmer’s Market plans to host a Halloween-themed experience on the morning of Halloween Eve. Costumes are encouraged for all ages and a costume contest will take place with different categories. Families can enjoy trick-or-treating and shopping with local vendors. Festivities begin at 8 a.m. and go until noon. - Owensboro Family Trunk-or-Treat
Owensboro Family Pharmacy and Wellness will be holding a trunk-or-treat from 4-7 p.m.
Oct. 31
- Next Level Church of God Food and Candy Event
Next Level Church of God hopes to give kids something to do on Halloween as they open their lot to cars to hand out treats. From 6-8 p.m. they will be providing free hot dogs, chips, drinks and of course tons of candy. - Cornerstone Church Fall Festival
The church is holding an event from 3-6 p.m. Parking is at Dee’s Diner.
Oct. 30-31
- Terror at the Turley
For the last two weekends of the month, RiverPark Center is hosting the Terror at the Turley inviting people to experience the frights and sights of the Turley Building on their campus. The events start at 7:30 each night and end around 10:30 p.m.
- OMG!con
OMG!con is returning for a mini-con at the Convention Center with a Halloween twist and events throughout the whole weekend. Some events include a screening of a local directors’ movie, a Halloween parade on Elm Street and special cocktails made by the Brew Bridge.
