The Daviess County High School Band of Pride will host the “Fall Spectacular” band competition Saturday at Reid Stadium. It will mark the first band event at the stadium since its multi-million dollar renovation.
“It is very meaningful to have access to outdoor and indoor facilities that allow the band program to rehearse and compete,” said DCHS band director Nathan Clark. “We are very fortunate that Daviess County High School has an excellent performing arts wing, auditorium and football stadium.”
Four area bands are competing, including Apollo High School. DCHS will give an exhibition performance of their 2021 program “The Sun, The Moon and The Stars.”
The DCHS Band of Pride has already brought home some top awards from their events thus far this season.
“We are very pleased with the competitive success achieved by the band program,” Clark said. “The students have earned accolades that are similar to a normal, pre-pandemic season.”
Admission is $10. Children age 5 and younger will be admitted free. A variety of concessions will be available including chili, pizza, hot dogs, nachos, hot chocolate and other snacks. Parking is free.
