Tina Kasinger launched SerenDipity, a commercial chocolate fountain service, in October 2023. She attributes the business’s success to the continuous outpouring of support from the community.

“SerenDipity has accompanied events such as women’s conferences, holiday parties, teacher and staff appreciation parties, daddy-daughter dances, wedding receptions, bridal showers, and several nonprofit events, just to name a few,” Kasinger said. “There are many events on the 2024 calendar already, and a few even out into 2025. We have some proms, Derby parties, and graduation parties on the agenda next.”

Kasinger said the fountains are not intended for pick-up and drop-off rental use; instead, they are part of a service that includes 2 attendants to oversee the operation during the event and assist guests with using the fountains.

“We offer dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate, and even more popular lately has been tinting chocolate, where the chocolate’s color matches that of the event,” she said. “Pink chocolate has been a major hit for women’s conferences, baby girl showers, and gender reveals.”

Kasinger expects green-tinted chocolate for St. Patrick’s Day and Kentucky-blue chocolate for March Madness to be in high demand soon. She added that lavender and other spring colors will gain popularity as Easter approaches.

“It is so much fun to watch the guests’ faces when we tint the chocolate,” she said. “SerenDipity can work with your caterer for your dipping items, or if there isn’t a caterer in place, we can supply the items for you.”

She said a significant crowd-pleaser is cream puffs, a pastry filled with cream that pairs perfectly with warm chocolate. Regardless of the dipping item, there typically aren’t many leftovers.

Kasinger noted that a common misconception about chocolate fountains is that chocolate fountains can be messy.

“That’s not the case with SerenDipity. We really pride ourselves on keeping a nice, pristine area no matter the size of the crowd,” she said. “We have served anywhere from 75 guests up to 500. We want to give our customers the same service that we would expect for ourselves.”

Their creativity and capacity were on full display recently when they served over 450 attendees at a recent daddy-daughter dance. The fountains were an instant hit for fathers and daughters alike, with an assortment of dipping options for the pink chocolate.

SerenDipity offers custom pricing dependent on location, anticipated guests, chocolate selection, and more.

The company services the entire Owensboro area, along with Bowling Green, Henderson, Madisonville, and as far as Louisville. Recently, she said the fountains are gaining popularity throughout southern Indiana in Evansville, New Albany, and Paoli.

“We enjoy visiting all of the beautiful venues and being a part of some amazing celebrations,” Kasinger said. “I have enjoyed every minute of this business and have formed many new friendships while out there.”
