
Charles Maurice Kanable, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest. The Daviess County native was born November 5, 1941, to the late Harry and Myrtle Kanable. Maurice AKA “Morris” grew up on a farm and graduated from St. William High School in Knottsville. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards with his sister. Maurice was employed at Whirlpool and retired from there after 35 years. He loved traveling the country with his wife as well as watching and attending UK basketball games. Maurice was a good provider, husband, and father to both his children and step-children.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years, Patricia May Kanable; daughter, Denise Campbell (Jeff); son, Kevin Kanable (Lisa); step-children, Jan Cardwell, Todd Howard (Melissa), and Mark Howard; granddaughters, Cassie and Ashley Knott; step-grandchildren, Julian, Adrian, and Madison Vickers; sister, Nancy Howard; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Thursday at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with visitation from 9:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in St. William Catholic Cemetery.
