Owensboro Catholic volleyball extended its winning streak to three games with wins over Breckinridge County and Todd County.
Owensboro vs. Breckinridge County
Despite losing in the opening set, the Lady Aces bounced back and defeated Breckinridge County in four sets (24-26, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23).
Breckinridge County looked to set the tone for the match in the opening set, squeaking out the 26-24 win.
However, Owensboro Catholic quickly bounced back and won 25-20 to even things up at 1-1.
The Lady Aces shifted momentum even further their way in the third set, winning 25-23.
While Breckinridge County fought to stay alive, Owensboro Catholic put them away in the fourth set 25-23.
Senior Cate Sights led the way in kills for the match, recording 22 while senior Hadley Latham freshman Olivia Castlen followed closely behind with eight and seven respectively.
Sophomore Kennedy Murphy and junior Paige Miles helped set up a vast majority of the kills, recording 23 and 18 assists in the match.
Junior Emily Christian and sophomore Blair Riney helped cover the floor, recording 20 digs each.
Owensboro Catholic vs. Todd County
After battling for the win against Breckinridge County, Owensboro Catholic made quick work of Todd County with a three-set sweep (27-25, 25-19, 25-17).
The Lady Aces battled out a grueling win in the first set, needing extra points to secure a 27-25 win.
Owensboro Catholic carried that momentum into the second set, taking a 2-0 lead with a 25-19 win.
The Lady Aces wasted no time and stayed focused in the third set, securing the sweep with a 25-17 win.
Sights led the way in kills again with 15, while Miles and Murphy combined for 25 assists.
Sophomore Karen Tipsmore led the way defensively with 10 digs, while Christian followed behind with five.
The win makes it three straight and moves Owensboro Catholic to 15-5.
The Lady Aces will look to continue rolling when they host Ohio County at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27.
