Daviess County girls soccer suffered a loss against Greenwood, while Owensboro put on an offensive showcase against McLean County on Thursday.
Daviess County vs. Greenwood
The Lady Panthers struggled to keep possession and muster up much offense, falling to Greenwood 2-0.
Greenwood controlled the majority of the game, rattling off 23 shots and converting on two of them.
Senior Emma Patterson had a strong performance at net, recording 17 saves out of the 23 shots from the Lady Gators.
Meanwhile Daviess County was only able to get three shots total on the match, as they fell to Greenwood 2-0 despite its best efforts defensively.
The loss moves the Lady Panthers to 6-12 overall on the season, as they will look to bounce back when they host South Warren at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
Owensboro vs. McLean County
The Lady Devils used an outpouring of offense to defeat McLean County on Thursday, ultimately coming away with a 7-0 victory on the road.
Sophomore Sydney Lovett led the way offensively once again, scoring a whopping five goals on the day.
Senior Madison Clouse and junior Alli Hardison also got in on the action, scoring a goal each for Owensboro.
Senior Evelyn Pierson led the way in the assists department with two, while senior Abby Warren, senior Ella Bratcher, senior Natalie LaMar and freshman Georgia Warren all recorded an assist as well.
Junior keeper Chandler Worth made two saves, recording the Lady Devils’ third straight shutout and their seventh of the season.
During this three-game stretch the offense has been clicking on all cylinders as well, scoring 20 goals.
Owensboro now sits at 8-6 overall on the season and will look to extend its winning streak to four games when it plays its final home game at noon on Saturday.
