According to DCSO, deputies responded to an address in the 3000 block of Creek Branch Cove regarding a suspicious circumstance/welfare check. The caller advised that a female who possibly lives at a nearby residence appeared to have been screaming for help and was possibly assaulted and forced into a vehicle, which then left the scene with three other subjects.
While deputies were on scene attempting to make contact with the female, a vehicle matching the description given was observed pulling up to the area of the residence then attempting to turn around, according to DCSO. Units contacted the vehicle and the occupants. The female in question was located in this vehicle and appeared to have minor injuries.
According to reports, during the course of the investigation the occupants were detained and it was discovered that the female victim had been assaulted as well as forced into the vehicle and feared for her life.
Units also had a separate call related to the incident, where the female had attempted to run to a residence on Millers Mill Road to call for help, but was then brought back to the vehicle where she continued to be driven around.
While on scene deputies also smelled a strong odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle involved, according to DCSO. A search revealed approximately 6.9 ounces of suspected methamphetamine located in the vehicle, as well as a “small amount” of marijuana.
