KWC to host Secretary of State Adams

Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams will speak at Kentucky Wesleyan College at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Rogers Hall in the Winchester Center. The public is invited to attend.

Adams is a native of Paducah and graduated from the University of Louisville and Harvard Law School.

He clerked for Chief U.S. District Judge John Heyburn and worked on Senator Mitch McConnell’s 2002 reelection campaign staff. He served as deputy general counsel to Governor Ernie Fletcher before moving to Washington, D.C., to accept an appointment as counsel to the U.S. Deputy Attorney General in the second Bush administration.

In 2007, he began full-time private practice in election law, first as general counsel to the Republican Governors Association and later opening a national practice in the field. He has represented several national political committees, numerous national political figures and statewide campaign efforts in all 50 states.

In 2016, he was appointed to the Kentucky State Board of Elections and was inaugurated as secretary of state on Jan. 6, 2020.
