Crume named director of secondary education for DCPS

Jennifer Crume has been named Director of Secondary Education for Daviess County Public Schools. Crume has previously served as College View Middle School’s principal since 2006.

As Director of Secondary Education, Crume will be responsible for providing support and technical assistance for instructional improvement to administrators and teachers at all six DCPS middle and high schools as well as programs at Valley School and Owensboro Day Treatment.

“I am excited about the challenges that this position will bring and am grateful for the opportunity to expand my leadership capacity,” she said. “I look forward to working with our district’s outstanding leadership team and serving the students, staff, and community of Daviess County Public Schools.”

Crume worked at Eminence, McLean County, and Spencer County high schools before permanently arriving at Daviess County Public Schools in 1998 as a family and consumer science teacher at Apollo High School.

DCPS Superintendent Matt Robbins said Crume has demonstrated exceptional success in school leadership at both middle and high school levels.

“She is a collaborative leader whose administrative and team-building skills will benefit the students, families and staff of the Daviess County Public Schools district,” Robbins said.

Crume earned her Rank I certification in educational administration from Western Kentucky University in 2001. She has a master of arts degree in secondary guidance counseling from WKU and a bachelor of science degree from WKU with a major in home economics education and a minor in child development and family living.

Outside of school, Crume is a member of the Kentucky Association for School Administrators and Kentucky Center for School Safety. In previous years she was named 2005-06 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Secondary School Principals.
